Violence Against a Person: Violent crime covers a number of offences where physical or verbal assault has taken place on an individual (this includes threats of violence). Offence types range from harassment, to assault, to grievous bodily harm and murder, but the number of serious offences tend to be relatively small. Sexual Offences are also included in this category. Violent crime includes Domestic Violence which is defined by the Home Office as any violence between current and former partners in an intimate relationship, wherever the violence occurs. The violence may include physical, sexual, emotional and financial abuse.
Crime statistics are taken from a live crime recording system (CIS). The data is OPERATIONAL data, it has been extracted from the live system and converted into .csv format. The data has not been audited or verified by Statisticians at Nottinghamshire Police in any way, and therefore must only been used as a reflection of crime, rather than authorised and fully verified data. Data is extracted from the first to the last day of every month period. For Analytical purposes, the field Date From is used by the JiN Partners to select the date period. The JiN Hub extracted and deleted all spurious records with a crime location outside the Nottinghamshire Force Area. Non-Geocoded data has been excluded from this download.
